Monroe, NY – When people can gather together and have fun while engaging in activity that helps others it is special.  This is what occurred on Friday, June 29th at the Mansion Ridge Golf Club when 64 golfers participated in the 3rd Annual CHCM Golf Tournament run by the Christ Health Care Ministry (CHCM) to benefit those who have health care needs but do not have health insurance or the financial resources to pay for needed health services.  CHCM was founded 2012 to address the unmet physical and spiritual needs of those facing significant health issues.
  
For the second year the event 64 golfers gathered at the beautiful Jack Nicklaus designed Mansion Ridge Golf Club located at the foothills of the Catskills providing golfers of all abilities with awesome views regardless of their score.  

The format of the event was a four player team scramble in which each player hits their golf shot and then selects the best of the four shots to play, continuing this process through the completion of the hole.  The team score is recorded on their scorecard and at the end of play the team with the lowest score is declared the winner.  The event also included three skill events, longest drive, closest to the pin and straightest drive.  

The top performing team in the 3rd Annual CHCM event included Juan Goyzueta, Monroe Hale, Lee Ferrec and Cody Cox who carded a 14 under par 58.  

Skill competitions were also held to recognize the woman and man that could hit the longest drive, the golfer who could hit his or her tee shot closest to the pin and the golfer able to hit the straightest drive.  Pete Portabella won men’s long drive honors with Camila Andalis taking the win for the women.  Aaron Syvertsen’s tee shot came to rest 9’ 9 “ from the cup to win the closest to the pin competition and Dave Kievit was awarded for the straightest drive.
