Statement of Faith

Because Christ Health Care Ministry is focused on meeting the physical and spiritual needs of the poor, the uninsured, and the homeless, CHCM has adopted a basic ecumenical, evangelical statement of faith, detailed below.

We believe:
  1. That there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4, Genesis 1:26-27, Matthew 28:19-20)
  2. In the divine inspiration, integrity, and final authority of the Bible as the Word of God and the authoritative source of Christian doctrine and precept. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
  3. That man was and is created in the image of God but, as a result of sin, is lost and powerless to save himself. (Genesis 1:27, Romans 3:10, 23)
  4. The only hope for man is to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the virgin-born Son of God, Who died to take upon Himself the punishment for the sin of mankind and Who rose from the dead. Therefore, by receiving Him as Savior and Lord, man is redeemed. (John 3:16, I John 4:10, Acts 2:29-30, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:9-10)
  5. The purposes of every believer are to love, worship, serve, and enjoy God and to fellowship with Him forever. (Luke 10:27, Exodus 20:3, Ecclesiastes 12:13)
  6. The Holy Spirit indwells those who receive Christ to enable them to live righteous and holy lives. Additionally, every believer is called to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to be a part of spreading the Good News through their lives and work. (I Corinthians 3:16, Romans 8:9, Acts 1:8)
  7. The church is the body of Christ and comprises all those who, through belief in Christ, have been spiritually regenerated by the indwelling Holy Spirit. The church's mission is world-wide evangelization and the nurture and discipleship of Christians. (Matthew 28:19-20). In light of that mission, the primary mission of Christ Health Care Ministry is evangelism. To further emphasize that point, we hold to the Lausanne Covenant.
  8. In Jesus Christ’s return to earth in power and glory to judge all mankind, we believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost. (Revelation 21:1-5, Matthew 28:18, Mark 14:62, Hebrews 9:28)

Like many other Christian organizations, we adhere to the Lausanne Covenant, which was developed in 1974 by 2,300 people from 150 nations.
